Sure, we all know and love the incredible piece of musical art that is Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells. But have you ever heard it accompanied by ten circus artists performing aerial feats that will make your jaw drop? Well, that’s what’s happening at this great-looking 50th-anniversary concert at the Royal Festival Hall. And there’s some serious pedigree here, too – the musical director is Robin Smith, who has collaborated with Mike Oldfield over three decades including memorable performances of Tubular Bells at Edinburgh Castle in 1992 and at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
