For many, the countdown to Christmas doesn't start until the lights have been switched on in Trafalgar Square. Every year, since 1947, the people of Norway have donated a Christmas tree to London, in gratitude for our support during the Second World War. To honour this tradition, the tree will be lit by the Mayor of Westminster, the Norwegian Ambassador and the governing Mayor of Oslo. The Salvation Army and St Martin-In-The-Fields choir will sing carols.
This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can't be guaranteed. You need to be registered to store the event information in your profile, but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
