University Gospel Choir of the Year (UGCY) is an annual competition that aims to bring together talented individuals through music! UGCY provides an unprecedented platform for University Gospel Choirs across the UK and in Ghana (West Africa) to develop and showcase their musical abilities. Since its 2011 launch, UGCY has held six UK annual competitions in prestigious London venues, a televised 6 part series for Viasat 1 TV of the maiden Ghanaian edition with the finals held in Ghana’s National Theatre, we held a mass choir surprise performance in Europe’s largest shopping centre – Westfield, Stratford City and we have made numerous appearances in the media such as on the BBC & ITV, weddings and events all celebrating the talents of over 5000 individuals from various universities across the UK and Ghana!
