Vault Festival 2016: Crude Prospects

Prospecting for petroleum in a kicked-up Western gone North

London's biggest arts festival is returning: make your way underground for six weeks of creativity, innovation and chaos at Vault Festival. With more than 100 different shows spread across eight incredible venues, you're not going to find anything else like it above or below ground any time soon. Alaska, 66° north, or just shy of it. Childhood buddies Brett and Kathy confront a fissured friendship at the fossil-fuel frontier of the Arctic. As executive Kathy moils for oil at the top of the planet, Brett undertakes a journey to the ice and sifts through the sediments of collective pasts and impossible futures. Up here the day doesn’t start over every day. Returning to the Vault Festival after the award winning Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone, Les Foules brings with them a newly devised piece for Vault 2016. An intimate portrayal of friendship and camaraderie opens out onto a narrative expanse of arctically proportioned disorientation and division, it drills to the bottom of our outlandish orders of exploration and laws of extraction in a kicked-up Western gone North. Show takes place in the Forge space. Running time is approx 60 minutes.
