Vault Festival 2016: Eden

Powerful physical theatre presents parallels of the challenges surrounding home

London's biggest arts festival is returning: make your way underground for six weeks of creativity, innovation and chaos at Vault Festival. With more than 100 different shows spread across eight incredible venues, you're not going to find anything else like it above or below ground any time soon. The year is 2044 and Earth is a lifeless wasteland. The only chance of survival is to be accepted into Eden, a city enclosed in a protective dome where the inhabitants are free from the dangers of the Outside but the promise of paradise may not be all that it seems. Eden follows two individuals, their emotional journey of social exclusion, and their struggle to survive in a world where there is little room for forgiveness. Dynamic movement is fused with poetic text and woven throughout is a powerfully composed soundtrack. Using satirical commentary and physical interpretation, Displace Yourself Theatre present parallels of the challenges surrounding homelessness and explore the social divides that exclude many communities. Show takes place in the Cavern space. Running time is approx 45 minutes.
