Vault Festival 2016: The Financials! Accounting + Finance For Performing Artists

A not-to-be missed line-up of educational and inspirational events.

London’s biggest arts festival is returning: make your way underground for six weeks of creativity, innovation and chaos at Vault Festival. With more than 100 different shows spread across eight incredible venues, you're not going to find anything else like it above or below ground any time soon. This is the fourth panel in a series of six. Tax and accounting can be especially challenging when working in performing arts, but taking a few steps forward makes everything more manageable. This session, led by chartered accountant Christine Lee, will offer an introduction to tax, national insurance and basic financial management for individuals (freelancers) and new companies. We'll look at how to get set up, the things you'll need to do each year and the best places to go for more information. Christine Lee is a chartered accountant (ACA) who works with freelance artists and small performing arts companies; previously she was a manager for Big Four firm Deloitte LLP, specialising in corporate tax and charities. She's also a freelance theatre & events producer in her own right. Recently she's had production roles with Farnham Maltings and Rugby World Cup 2015; she is Executive Producer of new opera & theatre company, And So Forth. Event takes place in the Crescent space. Running time is approximately 1 hour. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can't be guaranteed. We need your card details to store the event information in your profile, but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
