We think this is the most satisfying, sociable day or night out you’ll ever have – and trust us, we’ve tried a few. Sling axes side-by-side with (or against) your pals to a soundtrack of great music and a cracking atmosphere. Hit bullseyes, cheer on your mates and socialise in-between throws and – for the more inexperienced axe-wielders among you – you'll get a swift bit of training up from the Whistle Punks' experienced throwing coaches. The 90-minute axestravaganza kicks off with a safety briefing, before moving onto the throwing techniques you'll need to get sinking some axes. And, once you’ve got the hang of that, it’s onto the tournament. You’ll get one point for an outer ring, three for the inner ring, five for a bullseye and, if you’re feeling lucky you can bet it all and aim for the tiny seven-point corner spots. Here's a quick summary of how the day goes from Whistle Punks: 1. We give you a safety briefing and if it’s a mixed group we get you out of your shells and into a sociable, urban axe throwing mood. 2. We teach you how to sling an axe like a boss, giving group instruction then brief individual coaching to hone your technique. 3. Then once you’re happily smashing targets we’ll throw you straight into a tournament. 4. We crown the tournament winner and celebrate with everyone else. Entries close at 5pm the day before the event, successful entrants will be notified within the next hour after winners are selected. Unless otherwise stated, 2 tickets per day are available to win. You agree for your data to be shared with Weetabix and YPlan for marketing purposes. The competition is open to UK residents, aged over 18 years. No purchase necessary although a valid email is required. Winners selected at random. If you are more than 5 minutes late you will be refused entry. The venue has a bar serving non-alcoholic drinks, and alcoholic drinks for after your game. No drinking allowed until after you play. If you're not in a fit state to swing an axe, you will not be allowed to play, nor will you be given a refund. There’s also a food outlet onsite selling Fusion Asian food, and loads of great restaurants and bars a short walk away. Each session lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. No open-toed shoes or flip-flops. Pro tip: flat shoes are best for throwing in.
