In a society where we're constantly tracked by CCTV, wholly absorbed by our mobile phones and using social media to watch what everybody else is doing, comes Wiretapper – immersive theatre at its most creative and subversive. From some of the creative and theatrical minds that brought you Shunt, dive into this disorientating yet playful experience set within London's busy streets, Where our anonymity is not quite as anonymous as it once was. Having downloaded the Wiretapper app you'll be sent instructions on where to go on the morning of your chosen date. You'll put your headphones on at showtime and the app will do the rest. The main character will be speaking directly to you. You'll have to find him without becoming too conspicuous yourself whilst infiltrating crowds, listening in on conversations and gradually discovering your fellow audience members (as you all simultaneously behave like the weirdest flashmob ever). To enhance the experience, specialised binaural audio engineered to create 3D sound environments has been employed. You may even forget you're wearing your headphones. At the end of the show as the sun sets behind London's CCTV networks you'll head to a nearby bar for a drink and a chat with your fellow audience members where things will become a lot less clandestine. Once you've downloaded the app and bought a ticket all instructions will be sent to you. All you need is a smart phone, headphones and weather-appropriate clothing.
